The yellow rubber duck remains a hit — the Taoyuan Land Art Festival attracts over one million visitors

On the sixth day of the 2013 Taoyuan County Land Square Art Festival, nearly 130,000 people visited the venue on the 30th, bringing the cumulative attendance over the first five days to over one million. The musical staff-themed duck officially said goodbye, and from the 30th onwards, you can take uninterrupted photos of the adorable duck even without going up the embankment.

On the 30th, nearly 130,000 visitors attended the Taoyuan County Land Square Art Festival, with around 80,000 visiting the duck exhibition area, 14,200 at the lotus area, 16,000 at the dots area, and nearly 20,000 at the water lane and Fanjiang areas. The total attendance over the first five days of the event has surpassed one million.

To ensure visitor safety and offer the best photo angles with the duck, the organizers, together with telecommunications and power companies, completed the removal, reassembly, and height reduction of the wires in front of the yellow duck’s face last night, restoring the duck’s cute appearance. Only part of the wiring in front of the yellow duck was moved to the ground drain, while the three overhead high-voltage lines and those not affecting the duck remained untouched. This allows visitors to capture different views of the yellow duck from various angles. Those nostalgic for the musical staff duck can snap photos from either side of the square, while those wanting to capture the duck’s charming and clean look along with the full view of the event entrance can shoot from the front of the square.
