Japanese low-cost carrier "Vanilla Air" starts ticket sales today: Tokyo-Taipei for just 1,000 yen

The new Japanese low-cost airline "Vanilla Air" is set to begin operations on December 20. Today (the 1st), it held a press conference to announce the launch of ticket sales for its inaugural flights. Vanilla Air has listed the "Tokyo-Taipei" route as one of its first departures. Tickets went on sale at 3:00 PM Japan Time / 2:00 PM Taiwan Time, and to celebrate the launch, one-way fares from Narita Airport to Taipei Taoyuan start as low as 1,000 yen.

After the split between major shareholders All Nippon Airways (ANA) and AirAsia, the new low-cost carrier "Vanilla Air" has taken over. On December 20, it will launch its first two routes: "Tokyo-Taipei" and "Tokyo-Okinawa." Vanilla Air currently plans to operate flights from Narita Airport to Taipei, Okinawa, Sapporo, and Seoul. The inaugural Narita-Taipei route goes on sale this afternoon at 3:00 PM Japan Time, with one-way tickets from Tokyo to Taipei starting at just 1,000 yen until 11:59 PM on November 3.
