Relive the comeback moments！ Taiwan Baseball Exhibition Debuts in Tainan

The "Comeback: Taiwan Baseball Exhibition," themed around baseball comebacks, debuted in Tainan at the National Museum of Taiwan History in November and will be open for six months until May 2014. The exhibition is divided into sections on players, teams, and the history of baseball in Taiwan, including early baseball equipment, the emergence of the Chinese National Team, the Triple Crown generation, and the outstanding achievements of Taiwanese players abroad. It will also feature screenings of historic game footage, highlighting Taiwan’s remarkable performances in international tournaments and the CPBL’s 25-year legacy.

The exhibition will display many precious historical photos, as well as early baseball gear, the emergence of the Chinese National Team, and the proud pennants and trophies of the Triple Crown era. There will also be introductions to basic baseball knowledge, allowing baseball enthusiasts to get closer to valuable artifacts and historical images, while helping those less familiar with the sport understand its origins and connection to Taiwan.

Baseball has long been regarded as Taiwan’s national sport. From the early days of the Red Leaf Little League Team to the present-day Chinese National Team, from the era of Kuo Tai-yuan to that of Wang Chien-ming and Chen Wei-yin, baseball has always played a significant role in Taiwan’s international sports exchanges. Understanding baseball means understanding, to some extent, the pulse and changes of Taiwan’s larger historical narrative.
