Star Cruises, the world’s third-largest cruise company, announced that starting April 2014, it will deploy Asia’s largest cruise ship in its fleet, the “SuperStar Virgo,” departing from Hong Kong to visit destinations such as Taiwan, Sanya on Hainan Island, and Ha Long Bay in Vietnam for a six-month Asian cruise.

With long-term development in the Asia-Pacific region, following the arrival of the “SuperStar Aquarius” and “SuperStar Gemini” for cruise tours in Taiwan in 2013, Star Cruises has decided to launch its biggest ship in the Asian fleet — the 13-deck “SuperStar Virgo” — from April to October 2014, departing from Hong Kong and successively calling at ports including Keelung and Taichung in Taiwan, Kaohsiung, Sanya on Hainan Island, and Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, introducing three “SuperStar Virgo – Hong Kong Homeport Routes.”

Ng Kow Hin, Director of Cruise Operations at Genting Hong Kong, stated that they believe the “SuperStar Virgo” voyages will help meet the growing demand among Asian travelers who love cruising. Paired with the ship’s wide range of recreational and entertainment facilities and dining services, it is sure to offer passengers an unforgettable journey.

The “SuperStar Virgo – Hong Kong Homeport Routes” cruises will begin on April 7 of next year, offering three meticulously designed itineraries each week, including a 4-day/3-night trip between Kaohsiung and Taichung, a 4-day/3-night trip to Sanya and Ha Long Bay, or a 1-night open sea voyage. For Taiwan travel, a 7-day/6-night route from Keelung to Kaohsiung to Taichung will also be launched monthly.

After completing its cruise itinerary on October 26, the “SuperStar Virgo” will depart from Hong Kong on October 28 and return to its home port in Singapore.
