Japanese low-cost carrier launches “Kaohsiung-Osaka” route, ticket sales start on the 20th

Low-cost airlines in Taiwan are set to expand to new destinations. The Kaohsiung-Kansai route will become Peach Aviation’s sixth international route. Starting January 18, 2014, Peach Aviation will connect the skies between Kaohsiung and Osaka, becoming the first Japanese airline to open the Kaohsiung-Kansai route. Peach Aviation CEO Shinichi Inoue announced today (the 20th) that ticket sales for the Kaohsiung-Kansai route have begun.

Taiwan’s low-cost airline network expands further. Peach Aviation CEO Shinichi Inoue announced today (the 20th) that tickets for the Kaohsiung-Osaka (Kansai) route are now officially on sale, making this the airline’s sixth international route. Starting January 18, 2014, Peach Aviation will link the skies between Kaohsiung and Osaka. Currently, the airline already operates flights between Taipei–Osaka and Taipei–Okinawa.

Since the launch of the Taipei route, it has been very popular among travelers—not only Taiwanese but also Japanese passengers. To meet the growing demand, the upcoming Kaohsiung–Osaka route will provide a convenient connection between the Kansai region and southern Taiwan, allowing travelers from southern Taiwan easier access to Kansai. Shinichi Inoue stated that ticket sales will begin at 1:00 PM Taiwan time on Wednesday, November 20. Flights will operate once daily. The flight departs Kaohsiung at 2:55 PM and arrives in Osaka around 6:35 PM. The return flight departs Osaka at 11:35 AM and arrives in Kaohsiung at 2:20 PM.
