The New Taipei City Government has assisted restaurants at Yehliu Fishing Port and Fugui Fishing Port, in partnership with the 7-ELEVEN ibon channel, to offer a limited run of 102 premium seafood meal sets. The original NT$3,000 special set menus are now available at a 34% discount for just NT$1,999.

Ye Hui-ching, Director of the Department of Economic Development, said that New Taipei City’s coastline stretches 126 kilometers from the northern coast to the northeast coast, with hundreds of seafood restaurants located along its various fishing harbors. This year, the focus is on Wanli District, also integrating the Wanli Crab brand to create a new image for seafood restaurants.

Restaurant operators noted that while many people think crab season is in autumn, the favorite flower crabs are actually available year-round, though they are at their plumpest around the Mid-Autumn Festival. The three-spot crab and swimming crab seasons begin in September and October respectively, lasting for three consecutive months. In addition, there are other catches from sea fishing such as the mackerel pike, spotted scat, red goatfish, and yellowfin goatfish, as well as seasonal delicacies including sea urchins, horseshoe clams, money eels, prawns, squid, and clams — offering a variety of fresh seafood all year long.

The New Taipei City Department of Economic Development stated that the city government has specially guided businesses to offer a limited number of winter seafood meal vouchers — the original NT$3,000 four-person set menu is now discounted to NT$1,999, limited to 102 sets, and the original NT$600 signature dish is available for NT$399, limited to 200 servings, startingfrom noon on November 25th until 11:59 PM on December 2nd, and can be purchased at 7-ELEVEN ibon kiosks nationwide.These meal vouchers are valid until the end of the year.
