The movie Cape No. 7 made the small town of Hengchun an overnight sensation. Four years ago, the town office set up vintage tourist mailboxes at seven filming locations around town. However, many tourists took them seriously and continued to drop off letters, causing inconvenience to the post office. As a result, the town office has decided to "seal the mouths" of six of these mailboxes starting today, while keeping only the mailbox in front of "A-Jia's House" open for people to send their letters.

To ride the wave of Cape No. 7’s popularity, the town office placed seven retro green freestanding mailboxes from the 1950s at Hengchun’s North Gate, West Gate, Zhongshan Old Street, Baisha Bay, Wanlitong, Shanhai Fishing Port, and in front of "A-Jia's House." Because the mail slots looked very real, the Hengchun Post Office has occasionally received calls from the public complaining, such as “Why is my mail so late?” or “Where did my letter go?”

To prevent any more cases of “undeliverable love letters,” the town office has decided to keep only the mailbox in front of "A-Jia's House" operational for sending and receiving mail, while sealing the slots on the other six mailboxes to stop tourists from “accidentally dropping” letters again.
