Taiwan’s most beloved and therapeutic Yellow Rubber Duck is set to make an appearance in Keelung. A well-known hotel has capitalized on the duck craze by opening an outdoor restaurant on the first and fourth floors of the Keelung Museum of Marine Science and Technology. From December 21 until February 8, 2014, the venue will offer duck-themed meals and snacks, as well as a banquet space with round-the-clock service.

The Junpin Hotel has joined the Yellow Rubber Duck trend by setting up an outdoor restaurant on the first and fourth floors of the Keelung Museum of Marine Science and Technology. It offers spaces for Christmas parties, New Year’s Eve dinners, year-end company banquets, or Lunar New Year gatherings. In close collaboration with the local Keelung Fishermen’s Association, diners who order the “Duck Finale” full duck banquet at NT$5,500+10% per table can add 10 Keelung prawns or golden crabs for just NT$1,000 (original price NT$12,800). Guests can enjoy delicacies prepared by Junpin Hotel’s expert culinary team while getting an up-close view of Taiwan’s first 360-degree rotatable Yellow Rubber Duck.
The Junpin Hotel’s dining spaces on the first and fourth floors of the Keelung Museum of Marine Science and Technology offer duck-themed meals and banquet dishes. The indoor area on the first floor features winter favorites like hot pot, such as the “Chicken Talks to Duck Pot,” a play on the pronunciation of “Keelung” (基隆, Jīlóng), combining winter tonic favorites sesame oil chicken and ginger duck in a tai chi-style hotpot, warming up the chilly season. The outdoor terrace restaurant serves coffee and tea, adorable duck-shaped cupcakes and “Dumpling” cupcakes, along with the chef’s special roast duck buns.

The fourth-floor banquet hall, which can accommodate 150 people, provides 24-hour dining services. Banquet options include a “Keelung Yellow Rubber Duck” year-end party and a “Success in the Year of the Horse” New Year’s Eve reunion dinner. The menu also features a specially designed “Duck Finale” banquet where every dish from appetizer to dessert has a duck theme.
