"Fantastic Taipei" Takes Visitors to Creative Hotspots and Unveils New Travel Highlights

The latest issue of the "Fantastic Taipei" tourist activity map brochure, published and distributed by the Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism, has carefully curated a selection of inspiring destinations. Places such as Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Ximending Red House, and the third global Taipei Red Dot Design Museum located in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, are all new creative highlights within the city.

The Department of Information and Tourism noted that cultural and creative hubs emphasizing style, relaxation, and imagination have become must-visit destinations for many tourists in Taipei. The theme of this issue is “Exploring Taipei, Savoring Great Design!” It introduces Huashan 1914 Creative Park, formerly known as the Taipei Distillery, as well as Ximending Red House—transformed from Taiwan’s first government-built public market—and the "16 Workshops," where many young creative shops have set up shop. It also covers Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, a former tobacco factory now reborn as a new highlight of Taipei tourism. The Red Dot Design Museum inside the park is the third of its kind globally, following those in Essen, Germany, and Singapore, showcasing 120 award-winning Red Dot design pieces to offer visitors a comprehensive taste of great design.

In addition, the “Explore Taipei” section of this issue recommends two one-day tour routes in Taipei: “Star-Chasing Enthusiasts Love Creative Tours” and “Muzha Maokong – Search for Yuanxiao and Savor Tea Aroma.” There are also features on great food, the “2014 Taipei HIGHEST New Year’s Eve Party,” the “2013 Taipei Christmas City,” and other special events and activities.

The Department of Information and Tourism stated that the 36th issue of the "Fantastic Taipei" tourist activity map brochure is available in four languages—Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean—and is expected to be distributed progressively to locations such as the Civic Service Section on the first floor of the Taipei City Hall and various county and city tourism service centers before December 11. Members of the public or travelers can pick up a copy for free nearby. It can also be browsed on the “Read Taipei” section of the Department of Information and Tourism’s website (www.tpedoit.taipei.gov.tw), or in the “Play & Fresh News – E-Magazine” section of the Taipei Tourism website (www.taipeitravel.net).
