“Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way” – to celebrate the annual Christmas, Cathay Pacific deployed 300 flight attendants and stewards to perform an impromptu flash mob dance at Hong Kong International Airport. The approximately 7-minute performance surprised many busy travelers, who stopped in their tracks to gather around and whip out their phones to capture the rare spectacle.

A flight attendant pulling a suitcase suddenly broke into dance, kicking off the flash mob event. Soon, more and more participants joined in. The flight attendants danced with great energy, drawing crowds of onlookers. The excitement peaked when pilots made an appearance, accompanied by the theme song “Days of Our Lives” from the TV drama “Triumph in the Skies,” which got everyone incredibly pumped up.

Cathay Pacific said on its official Facebook page that besides spreading the festive joy of Christmas, the performance was also aimed at raising funds for the charity “Operation Santa Claus.” As the year draws to a close, the airline is organizing various activities to spread love and care for underprivileged groups.

This is not the first time Cathay Pacific has staged a flash mob dance. In July, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok Airport, flight attendants and stewards from Cathay Pacific and Dragonair, along with airport staff, performed a dance medley including hits like “Gangnam Style” and “Kawaii Song” in the terminal, giving travelers an extra special surprise.
