Take a birdwatching micro-trip with New Taipei City Agriculture Bureau’s recommended 8 birdwatching micro-trip routes. Among them, two “One Mountain, One Water” routes have been selected to offer guided tour experiences. Participants can spot rare protected birds like the Taiwan blue magpie, Formosan blue magpie, common sandpiper, and black-winged stilt. The activity is entirely free, and participants can also enter a lucky draw for a premium hot spring travel gift pack and a sterling silver colored commemorative coin.

The New Taipei City Agriculture Bureau has launched“One Mountain, One Water”birdwatching micro-trip routes. The “Mountain” route is located at Dabaigen Man Yueyuan in Sanxia, where common bird species include the Taiwan blue magpie, Formosan blue magpie, small-billed scimitar babbler, and great egret. The “Water” route is situated at Qingshui Wetland in Jinshan, frequented by birds such as the Eurasian hobby, grey heron, little grebe, and various wading birds like the common sandpiper and black-winged stilt that winter here.

In addition to “One Mountain, One Water,”the 8 micro-trip routes also include Xindian Sishui, Wulai Neidong, under the Xinzhuang New Taipei Bridge, Bali Guanyin Mountain, Wanli Yehliu, and Gongliao Tianliaoyang.The New Taipei City Agriculture Bureau stated, “You don’t need to go too far or spend too much—just bring a relaxed mindset and set off!”

The Agriculture Bureau pointed out that the two guided tours are free, and no prior registration is required. Participants can simply show up on-site. The events will be held on December 21 at the Sanxia Dabaigen Forest Hot Spring Resort and on December 28 at the Jinshan Youth Activity Center, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Attendees can collect various bird-themed stamp stickers and participate in a lucky draw for a hot spring birdwatching gift pack and a sterling silver colored commemorative coin featuring Taiwanese wild birds, produced in Australia.
