Taichung Tops Popular Travel Cities List; Rubber Duck is Top Travel Keyword

The portal site YAM.com released the "Top 10 Most-Searched Domestic Travel Keywords" for 2013.The top spot went to the nationwide phenomenon "Rubber Duck."Meanwhile, the small fried rice shop "Minsheng Fried Rice," which gained sudden fame after media coverage, ranked 5th. Among searches for popular domestic travel cities, Taichung beat Tainan and Yilan to take the top spot.

The Rubber Duck exhibition in Keelung kicks off on December 21. Aside from the term "Rubber Duck" itself ranking as the No. 1 most-searched travel keyword, the exhibition venue "Glory Pier" also secured 8th place due to the previous successful event in Kaohsiung. The full top 10 travel keywords are: Rubber Duck, Mama Zui, Qiuhong Valley, Sun Moon Lake, Minsheng Fried Rice, Mugecuo, Hot Air Balloon, Glory Pier, ShenNong Street, and Yu Shui Zhi Huan.

The survey also publishedthe rankings for "most-searched domestic travel cities,"with Taichung taking the top spot, followed by Tainan in second and Yilan in third. Ranks 4 to 10 are, in order: Kaohsiung, Hsinchu, Taipei, Chiayi, Hualien, Taitung, and Nantou. For "most-searched international travel cities," Bangkok claimed first place, with Tokyo and Hong Kong in second and third respectively. The rest of the list includes Okinawa, Osaka, Kyoto, South Korea, Hokkaido, Malaysia, and Angkor Wat. (News source: Central News Agency)
