Serving Spring Festival travelers returning home: National airlines add extra flights and increase online booking bandwidth

As the Spring Festival approaches, to serve passengers traveling back home for the Lunar New Year, several national airlines, in coordination with the opening of cross-strait Spring Festival charter flights, have specially set up a “Cross-Strait Spring Festival Flight Ticketing Zone” on their websites from 8:00 AM on the 20th to midnight on the 21st. This allows travelers to directly book flights to popular cross-strait destinations such as Shanghai Pudong/Pudong, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen at discounted prices.

In line with the Civil Aeronautics Administration’s plan under the Ministry of Transportation, China Airlines will begin selling cross-strait Spring Festival charter flights on its corporate website starting at 8:00 AM on the 20th. To enhance e-service, China Airlines has significantly increased its internet bandwidth and established dedicated ticketing zones for popular destinations to manage traffic flow. It has also added a flight sorting and booking feature, allowing passengers to reduce online congestion and save time when purchasing cross-strait Spring Festival flights through the website.

From 8:00 AM on the 20th to midnight on the 21st, passengers booking round-trip flights to popular cross-strait destinations such as Shanghai Pudong/Pudong, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen can click on the “Cross-Strait Spring Festival Flight Ticketing Zone” on the China Airlines homepage. A new page will display a queue number. Those who have entered the queue (including those whose numbers have passed) can click “Start Booking” to proceed to the ticketing page and complete their purchase. Passengers who have not yet reached their queue number are advised to wait patiently and not close the webpage to avoid invalidating their place in line, which may affect their ability to book. Each queue entry allows one booking, with a maximum of four round-trip tickets that can be purchased simultaneously. For other cross-strait flights to non-popular destinations, passengers can still use the regular booking system on the China Airlines website.
