One of the biggest tourism events in Jeju in 2017 was the opening of “Lotte・Jeju Shinhwa World,” endorsed by GD, the leader of the iconic K-pop group BIGBANG.

As Korea’s largest one-stop integrated resort, spanning approximately 2.5 million square meters, it began phased openings in 2017, with full completion expected by 2020. Additionally, the “G-Dragon Design” YG Entertainment Town combines the Jeju K-Pop Hall, GD’s “Untitled, 2017” Café, and the “AC.III.T” bowling music bar. There’s also a luxury experience with over 2,000 rooms, a shopping and dining paradise spanning 20,000 square meters—the first and largest large-scale commercial district on Jeju Island that perfectly blends high-end fashion shopping with gourmet food.

Jeju is recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and boasts rich geological landscapes. It takes about 30 minutes to hike to the summit, where you can also enjoy the sunset. The area offers breathtaking views that are truly memorable.

Another famous natural landmark in Jeju is Yongduam, located downstream of the Han River in Jeju City. This volcanic rock formation is said to have been a dragon sent by the Dragon King to burn down the Samseonghyeol. However, it failed and fell into the sea, leaving behind its head and tail on the shore, creating this iconic scenic spot.
