Six times larger than the original – The world’s biggest Barbie, standing 175 cm tall, debuts in Taoyuan

What a huge Barbie doll!! To celebrate Christmas and New Year, the TaiMall Shopping Center in Taoyuan has created a 175-cm-tall Barbie doll, claimed to be the largest in the world — six times the size of a typical Barbie, which stands about 30 cm tall. This life-size Barbie has attracted many children and adults to stop and take photos.

TaiMall stated that the world’s largest Barbie doll has been authorized by the U.S. headquarters. Dressed in a bright white gown with a pink bow at the waist and a snowy satin skirt, the doll exudes star-like glamour. The shopping center also invested NT$5 million to create a pink double-decker cruise ship, where the “Barbie Dream Party” is being held. The exhibition runs from now until February 16, 2014 (103 year 2 month 16 day), accompanying the public through Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Valentine’s Day.

Inside the pink cruise ship’s cabin, there is not only a dazzling stage but also exquisite desserts on the bar counter. The open-air deck lounge area is furnished with peach-colored plush sofas. With its elaborate decoration, it looks just like a real luxury yacht. TaiMall pointed out that on the eve of the Lunar New Year next year, the 175-cm-tall Barbie doll will also get a new outfit to ring in the New Year with the public.
