Making a video to promote Taiwan tourism — Goodwill Ambassador Yang Dai-kang: Even when he gets a strikeout, his wife still applauds

Yang Dai-kang, serving as Taiwan’s Tourism Goodwill Ambassador, recently took time out to return to Taiwan to film a promotional video for Taiwanese tourism. According to the Tourism Bureau, in addition to using the video to promote tourism in Taiwan, Yang also kept up the humor during filming, fully showcasing his unique comedic personality and keeping the set in fits of laughter.

At his wife’s parents’ home, when asked about what his grandfather thought of him back then, Yang Dai-kang immediately responded:Maybe it’s because I’m handsome, that’s why my grandfather gave me his granddaughter in marriage !This immediately caused a burst of laughter on the set.

Yang Dai-kang also mentioned that whenever his grandfather went to Hokkaido to watch a game, his team would definitely win that match. But the next day after the grandfather returned to Taiwan, the team would lose right away. Yang said he hopes his grandfather can just live in Hokkaido forever and come to every game — that way, his team can keep winning.

His wife recalled the first time she met Yang Dai-kang, mentioning how he was 20 years old at the time and she was 22. Yang quickly quipped:I was scammed at the age of 20 !But his wife wasn’t one to back down either, saying:That’s because when I first saw you, I thought you were already 30, so actually, I’m the one who got scammed !This once again set off another round of laughter on the set.

Yang Dai-kang recalled that when he got a strikeout during a second-team game and returned to the bullpen, he saw his wife — who didn’t know anything about baseball — happily and vigorously clapping for him. He was so embarrassed he turned green, while she was wondering why he had such a sour face. Later, she realized that getting a strikeout actually calls for comfort, not applause.
