Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
The SUNNY BUFFET buffet restaurant at Dynasty Hotel, renovated with a one-billion-Taiwan-dollar investment, officially opened on November 1. It emphasizes using local ingredients to create Taiwanese specialty dishes, offering more than 100 menu items. But with so many choices, where should you start? The restaurant recommends 8 dishes to help you decide what to try first.

1. CHOICE-grade freshly sliced ribeye steak
SUNNY BUFFET carefully selects CHOICE-grade American ribeye steak, grilled to perfection with a tender and juicy inside while keeping all the flavors locked in.

2. Classic Austrian Raclette cheese
The rich, golden Raclette cheese becomes incredibly creamy and aromatic when heated. Its stretchy texture pairs perfectly with French bread, potatoes, and other toppings — a must-try for cheese lovers.

3. Japanese-style “One-night dry” dish
Seafood lovers definitely shouldn’t miss “One-night dry.” Made with fresh mackerel, the chef brines and air-dries the fish to concentrate its essence while preserving its natural tenderness, resulting in a crispy outside and soft inside.
4. Carefully selected Taoyuan goose meat
The chef selects Taoyuan goose meat, known for its tenderness, and prepares it using two methods: smoked tea and brined salt. These techniques add a subtle sweet flavor to the naturally juicy and tender goose, enhancing its taste profile.
5. Various nourishing soups for winter
Featuring three types of soup: mushroom chicken soup, pork rib soup, and four-herb soup, all simmered over medium heat for four hours to achieve a light yet rich flavor.
6. Sake-steamed clams
Made with fresh clams and only seasoned with sake, this dish combines the delicate aroma of sake with the natural sweetness of the clams — a must-try for seafood enthusiasts.

7. Retro malted milk drink
The retro “whistle-style malted milk cart” serves traditional-style malted milk paired with i* (mochi-like) cakes, bringing back nostalgic memories for many Taiwanese. The nostalgic aroma of the malted milk offers a fun talking point for families dining together.
8. 20 varieties of handmade desserts
SUNNY BUFFET has its own bakery, offering over 20 varieties of handmade desserts such as Portuguese egg tarts, cheesecakes, and almond jelly — an irresistible selection of exquisitely crafted sweets.
In addition, the Six Countries Restaurant at Taipei Garden Hotel is offering a year-end special promotion. From now until January 12, 2018, diners can enjoy the “1212 Double Treat Special,” where a meal for two during weekday lunch, dinner, or weekend afternoon tea costs just NT$1,212 — about NT$606 per person. During the promotion period, guests can enjoy unlimited access to the buffet, which features newly added classic French desserts, spicy hot pot, and freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices.
