Taipei Starview Revolving Restaurant at Beitou – 120-Meter-High Night Views of Greater Taipei

Today we’re introducing the “Starview Revolving Restaurant” – a 120-meter-high revolving scenic restaurant located atop the Beitou Incinerator. The restaurant sits at the 120-meter level of the tall tower, with a free observation deck on the floor below at 116 meters. Only the restaurant portion revolves automatically.

From here, you can gaze out at Yangmingshan, Guanyinshan, and the Datun Mountain Range, as well as the confluence of the Tamsui and Keelung Rivers, and major Taipei landmarks such as Taipei 101 and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. The views are incredibly expansive. At night, the city lights twinkle brilliantly, and you can enjoy either live music from the restaurant or the ambient sounds of the machinery nearby.

The observation deck at 116 meters is free to enter. Upon arriving at the incinerator, simply take the elevator to reach it. After entering the entrance on the first floor of the incinerator, there are two elevators. The one on the outside is a transparent sightseeing elevator that only stops at the 1st floor, the 116-meter observation deck, and the 120-meter Starview Revolving Restaurant.

The inner elevator is not for sightseeing and stops at more floors, making it more suitable for staff needs. So if possible, it’s better to choose the outer transparent sightseeing elevator. However, the outer elevator’s glass is a bit dirty, which somewhat detracts from the enjoyment of the view.


Dinner service at the Starview Revolving Restaurant begins at 17:30. We arrived at the Beitou Incinerator at 16:30 and quickly took a quick look around before heading up to the restaurant. Once upstairs, we learned that the restaurant was still being prepared and would open promptly at 17:30.

The restaurant entrance doesn’t look particularly new, which was a bit different from our expectations before the trip. The food at the restaurant is quite good, and when combined with the spectacular views, the romantic music atmosphere, the live singer performance after 19:00, and the unique revolving experience, we found the whole dining experience to be absolutely wonderful. The revolving restaurant atop the Beitou Incinerator is a fantastic scenic dining spot perfect for enjoying both the view and a meal.
