Keelung’s 110,000 Pinwheel Ducks Set Guinness Record, Adding 100,000 “Panda Pinwheels”

Despite ongoing controversies surrounding Keelung’s yellow rubber duck, the local Wenyongheng Cultural and Creative Park has officially received Guinness World Records certification for its “Pinwheel Duck” made from 110,000 pinwheels, earning the title of “World’s Largest Pinwheel Landscape Art.” Coincidentally, on the hillside next to the pinwheel duck, the park has arranged another 100,000 pinwheels into the currently popular panda design. The park now features a total of 210,000 spinning pinwheels.

The yellow duck, created with 110,000 pinwheels for blessings, measures 80 meters in both length and width. Each pinwheel features a “prosperity-bringing” coin design, symbolizing “a turn of fortune.” Due to the massive number of pinwheels, the organizers applied for Guinness World Records certification, and after official measurement and confirmation, they were awarded the title of “World’s Largest Pinwheel Landscape Art” (The largest pinwheel mosaic).

In addition to the pinwheel duck, the park has also found a “new friend” for the duck—arranging 100,000 pinwheels into a 90-meter-long, 60-meter-wide panda design. The panda even sports a smiling face, making it very adorable. The display will run until July 6. Many visitors have commented, “With the pinwheel panda around, the duck won’t feel lonely anymore.”

The park noted that the most popular animal stars in Taiwan right now are pandas and ducks. Now, they’ve come together in Keelung, allowing the public to enjoy both at once. The duck and panda are about 30 meters apart, and with 210,000 pinwheels spinning simultaneously, viewed from the hillside, it looks like the duck and panda are playing together, full of dynamic energy.
