Abu Dhabi Island Museum – Louvre Abu Dhabi

After a decade of construction, the only overseas branch of the Louvre Paris officially opened in Abu Dhabi in November 2017. The Louvre Abu Dhabi features a predominantly white architectural design, with a perforated dome that casts numerous irregular, shimmering light spots inside when hit by sunlight. The museum displays artworks from both the East and the West. In addition to traditional exhibits, it also includes a Children’s Museum designed for kids aged 6 to 12, aiming to teach children the beauty of art and nurture their spirit.

▲ These descending light spots are called “rain of light.” The inspiration for the perforated dome came from Abu Dhabi’s palm trees, where sunlight filtering through the fronds creates dappled patterns on the ground.

Adrenaline Rush – Ferrari World Fun for All Ages

A Water Show to Rival Macau’s – Dubai’s La Perle Offers a New Experience

In late August 2017, La Perle, directed by Franco Dragone, the creative director behind Cirque du Soleil and the producer of The House of Dancing Water in Macau, held its premiere performance, becoming Dubai’s first permanent theatrical show. The La Perle show takes place in a brand-new theater in Dubai’s Al Habtoor City. The stage features a central water stage that can hold up to 2.7 million liters of water.
