CNN Special Feature “Discovering Kaohsiung” Explores the Beauty of One of the World’s Best Cities to Live In

The southern port city of Kaohsiung, also known as the “Harbor Capital,” has once again gained international recognition. Having been ranked the world’s most livable city in early December 2013, Kaohsiung will be featured on the American cable networkCNNCNN on January 15, taking viewers on a tour of the city’s tourist attractions and highlighting its creative culture, allowing the world to “Discover Kaohsiung.”

CNN’s travel programCNNGOairs monthly episodes dedicated to showcasing global cities, with each installment lasting approximately 30 minutes to faithfully present the unique highlights and famous sights of each location. At the end of last year (2013), the production team selected Kaohsiung as a filming destination.

The program highlights the evolving city of Kaohsiung and showcases its distinctive artistic and creative energy. Examples include the “Big Rainbow Music Festival,” which blends pop, indie, rock, hip-hop, and other music genres, as well as the “Pier-2 Art Center,” a once-idle port warehouse that has transformed into a major art hub in southern Taiwan. Other featured spots include Qijin, the harbor city famed for its seafood, the Red Cape Cultural Park that preserves memories of the old harbor, and the “LOVE Observatory,” which offers stunning views of Kaohsiung.

The CNNGO special feature “The Beauty of Kaohsiung’s Harbor City” will premiere globally this Wednesday (15th) at 6:30 PM, aiming to allow more people around the world to witness the charm of this top-ranked livable city.
