A vacation week of mountain trekking and water fun pays $60,000 a week — “ageless beauty” Lin Yongqing lands the ultimate internship job

The “Best Internship Job of 2014,” the one-week Marianas Internship, wrapped up its three-month selection process and on January 14 announced its winner: ageless beauty and mom Lin Yongqing, who will take on this enviable internship.

Known for their picturesque landscapes, the Mariana Islands are hailed as “the best hidden garden among U.S. territories.” According to the organizers, this internship as a tourism ambassador includes a one-week stay at the PIC Resort,along with visits to Saipan, Tinian, and Rota islands, plus access to a variety of leisure activities and authentic local cuisine, with a total value exceeding NT$150,000; even better, the intern will also receive a weekly salary of NT$60,000.

After the application period opened, over 400 people signed up to participate. Following multiple rounds of evaluation, Tu Jie, Lin Yongqing, and Lin Shiwang made it to the final round, with Lin Yongqing ultimately taking home the honor.

The 50-year-old winner, who is also a mother of two, Lin Yongqing, shared that over the past year she has taken on challenges such as marathons, mountain climbing, and triathlons — but the internship competition, which required online vote-seeking, turned out to be the most exhausting challenge. With this job, she said she will cherish the opportunity with gratitude and fulfill her duties as a tourism ambassador to the best of her ability.
