After visiting the little hillside private kitchen hotpot spot, Littlehill.life, in Longtan, how could we just stop at one place? Of course, we continued on for afternoon tea. It’s mainly because it takes over half an hour to get to Longtan from home, so naturally, we wanted to visit more shops. Next, we headed to ‘Pengpai Tofu Pudding,’ tucked away in an alleyway. If I hadn’t followed the map, I wouldn’t have known there was a dessert shop hidden there. Many of the toppings are homemade by the shop, which makes them feel safer and healthier to eat.

Parking is pretty convenient nearby, and there are street parking spots just ahead. The entrance is planted with many green plants, and I think the most eye-catching thing is the moai statue~

There are many healing-themed small potted plants, with their cute and compact appearance creating a little green oasis.

There is also a promotion with extra toppings for a limited time—just like a Facebook page to get one free topping. Everyone can take advantage of this offer to choose an extra one.

Pengpai Douhua's menu is divided into winter and summer versions, with more options available in the summer. We visited in November, when the winter limited edition was being served.

The small bar inside the store is also the area for making ice cream and desserts, with toppings and bean curd stored in the fridge.

The space inside the store is quite small, with only about six seating areas. Most customers take their food to go, probably because they live nearby.

The decorative lights inside the shop along with the dried flowers are quite lovely, making you want to take a few photos—it has the style of a popular internet beauty photo wall.

Possibly because the owner loves Moai statues, he wanted to recreate the stone figures of Easter Island. Inside the shop, there are many Moai-themed small items, and it's fun to pull tissues out of the nostrils.

Even though it’s already autumn, the temperature is still like summer, so my friend and I opted for ice tofu pudding. We chose less ice, otherwise it would’ve been a full bowl.

Taro balls, rice balls, and soybeans are the three toppings chosen by a customer. The rice balls are chewy and delicious.

I chose purple rice, pink | discomfort burst, ? ∷ Qiao ? is that their taste is quite rich, the first bite is sweet, I think if the taste of the local people might be more suitable.

The shop-made powder|thirst reliever uses the flower known as "yellow gardenia" to boil it. The yellow color is natural, not artificial dye. However, the texture is a bit on the harder side and requires more chewing. It has little seasoning on its own and needs to be eaten with sugar syrup. I think if the powder|shell is used properly, it should be quite tasty and have a good balance.

The crispy round texture is also a bit harder, and it tastes better when eaten with syrup.

Purple rice is my favorite among the three toppings. It has a subtle sweet fragrance that pairs perfectly with the texture of the tofu pudding. It makes me want a bowl of purple rice porridge.

The texture of the tofu pudding here is somewhat like frozen tofu pudding—it might have a bit more brine, resulting in a slightly crispy texture. I think the owner might prefer that kind of texture. The price of the tofu pudding here isn’t expensive, but the interior of the shop is very cute. It’s a great place to visit when you need a break and want something sweet.
