Is Lion Travel giving out an 8-month year-end bonus? Ex-employee exposes: It's only 0.8 months.

Lion Travel Chairman Wang Wenjie said at an event on the 15th that despite external environmental impacts, the company adjusts employee salaries by about 3% every year.In 2013, due to increased profits, the company is expected to distribute year-end bonuses ranging from 3 to 8 months.Once this was announced, it not only made many in the travel industry envious but also drew admiration from the public who feel their “salaries are not great.”

However, on online discussion forums, many Lion Travel grassroots employees revealed that the 3 to 8 months bonus is likely only for senior executives, while regular staff may only receive 0.8 months. Some commented they had never heard of 3-month or higher bonuses and questioned where such news came from, speculating whether the actual bonuses were simply multiplied by 10 for publicity.

Additionally, ETtoday News Cloud received a message from a former Lion Travel employee who claimed to have worked at the company for over 6 years and only received a year-end bonus four times, with the highest being just 0.7 months. Moreover, the previous maximum had always been 1 month, and there had never been any mention of 3 to 8 months.

Other netizens also revealed that apart from year-end bonuses typically being only 0.8 to 1 month in previous years, Lion Travel had originally planned to hold an expanded 2013 spring dinner in March of the previous year, but the “expansion” had still not materialized by 2014, and there is still no news about this year’s spring dinner.
