Marianas Interns 3-for-1: Internet Celebrity Loves Being a "Tomboy"

The "Marianas Tourism Bureau: One-Week Intern" program attracts travel enthusiasts every year, offering not only an internship opportunity in the Marianas but also a weekly salary of NT$60,000, with flights, meals, and accommodation all provided for free. Among this year's final three candidates is Tang Ning, a well-known internet celebrity with tens of thousands of followers who is dedicated to becoming a travel expert. She handles everything from flights to accommodation on her own and shares dormitory-style accommodations with backpackers — a true travel tomboy — making the final three-way competition even more intense.

Island travel is one of the hottest activities in the summer. To attract more young visitors, the American island resort destination of the Marianas actively organizes internship programs. This year’s fourth edition of the "Marianas Tourism Bureau: One-Week Intern" has garnered widespread attention not only in Taiwan but also caused a stir in the Marianas. The finals are now in their final round, and the event’s Facebook page is calling on the public to predict the results — complete a task for a chance to win a double room stay at a Saipan hotel.

Tang Ning, who came in second in the online voting, is a well-known model with tens of thousands of followers. She has previously endorsed "GodsWar Online" and recently shot ads for a sports brand as she actively transitions into becoming a travel influencer. Passionate about planning travel itineraries, she started her backpacking journey at a young age, using her earnings from work to travel around. She arranges her own flights, meals, and accommodations, and even shares dormitory rooms with Western backpackers, happily embracing her role as a "travel tomboy." She says that traveling broadens one’s horizons, and she vows to livestream from the Marianas to show her fans the beautiful sights of Saipan.
