In Taiwan, you can also spread out mats under cherry blossom trees to enjoy tea and chat just like the Japanese do. An elegant cherry blossom tea gathering will be held on February 8 and 16 at National Chi Nan University in Nantou. The campus boasts up to 20 hectares of grassland and thousands of Taiwan mountain cherry and Japanese Somei Yoshino cherry trees, aiming to create a northern-style cherry blossom tea event that blends scenic beauty, culture, and the art of tea.

The flower and tea gatherings on February 8 and 15 each offer morning and afternoon sessions, starting at 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM respectively, but require a registration fee. The “Flower Appreciation and Tea Affairs” event on February 8 features high mountain oolong and black tea as the main selections. The fee is NT$300 per person, with 200 spots available. Participants will receive one limited-edition cherry blossom commemorative aroma cup and one tasting cup each.

The “Reserve a Tea Gathering Under a Cherry Tree” event on February 15 accepts 100 group registrations, with each group paying NT$200. Each group will be assigned a cherry tree for tea brewing and blossom viewing, but must bring their own floor mat and tea set. Registration for both events is now open.
