Welcome the first ray of dawn in Fulong, the easternmost part of Taiwan, for a series of romantic "light"-themed events!

Jointly organized by the Northeast Coast & Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration and Fullon Hotel,"Light Spots · Fulong"series of events officially launchedon December 15th!

On Thursday evening, the scenic administration held a lighting ceremony, where the Xuan Wu Yan Guang Art Troupe performed, using colorful and ever-changing LED displays along with a fire show to kick off the "Light Spots · Fulong."

Chen Meixiu, director of the Northeast Coast Scenic Area Administration, said, "This year marks the first time we've introduced the element of light in the northeast region. We hope to use light to illuminate new hopes for the new year and create a new highlight for winter tourism in the northeast. Among all the dawn-welcoming events across Taiwan, Fulong is located at the easternmost tip of Taiwan, making it the best choice to greet the first light. We welcome everyone to take the train after New Year’s Eve celebrations to Fulong in the northeast to welcome the dawn and make new wishes for the year."

▲ Light Spots Fulong's featured light zone "Embracing the Sea."This year, the scenic administration has, for the first time, integrated the tourism features of the Fulong area to launch the "Light Spots · Fulong" series. It uses light installation art and various themed designs to present the unique characteristics of different areas. Among them, at the Fulong Visitor Center, the"Beautiful Lychees of Fulong"zone specially utilizes the lychee-shaped lanterns left over from the 2014 "Taiwan Lantern Festival," incorporating them into the display to reflect the spirit of environmental sustainability and reuse. Additionally, there's the Fulong marine-themed"Embracing the Sea"

area, set up along Provincial Highway 2, where various marine creatures stand as if inviting passersby to stop and admire the beautiful sea.

Additionally, during the event, anyone who finds the national bird "Taiwan Blue Magpie" at the event site, takes a photo with it, and posts it online has the chance to win prizes such as Fullon Hotel accommodation vouchers and Leofoo Amusement Park tickets. Moreover, the opening week coincides with the peak of the Geminid meteor shower, with up to about 120 meteors per hour. Fulong in the northeast corner happens to be an open rural area free from light pollution with wide views, where you can enjoy this year’s grand finale meteor shower with the naked eye.
