According to the latest ranking of Japan’s top 10 best landmarks by global travel website TripAdvisor, attractions in the familiar Tokyo and Kansai (Kyoto-Osaka) areas take up seven of the spots. Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari Taisha ranks first, followed by Kyoto’s Kinkaku-ji, Kyoto’s Kiyomizu-dera, Tokyo’s Meiji Shrine, Tokyo’s Asakusa Temple, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Tokyo Tower, Nara’s Tōdai-ji, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and Hyogo’s Himeji Castle.
