A global travel booking platform has listed the average queue times at the world’s 10 most popular attractions. To see these tourist landmarks, you’ll have to stand in line for over an hour—and during peak summer travel season, some people are even willing to wait up to 4 hours.

During the summer vacation period, the world’s popular attractions see massive crowds. The global travel planning and booking platform TripAdvisor has compiled a list of the top 10 attractions with the longest queues: the London Eye, the Tower of London in the UK, the Colosseum in Italy, the Eiffel Tower in France, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Catacombs of Paris, the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, and the Empire State Building in New York.

During the peak travel season, the queue times at the aforementioned landmarks range from one to two hours, with the Paris Catacombs potentially requiring a four-hour wait during the summer. Of course, for those who want to see world-class attractions but prefer to skip the lines, they can also pay extra for fast-track tickets to save time—witnessing Michelangelo’s frescoes, including The Last Judgment and The Genesis, which span over five centuries of history; or venturing into the mysterious depths of the Paris Catacombs to test their courage.
