A must-visit spot for travelers in Tokyo, DiverCity is not only a shopping destination but also a mecca for Gundam fans. The 19.7-meter-tall, life-size “Unicorn Gundam” officially debuted on September 24. Every 30 minutes in the evening, a show will be performed, fully showcasing the transformation process from Unicorn Mode to Destroyer Mode. Recently, the official team released real photos, giving Gundam fans an early look at its impressive presence.

The incredibly popular Gundam series began selling Gundam model kits in July 1980. By the end of March 2017, a total of 473 million Gundam model kits had been sold, demonstrating its remarkable appeal. Tokyo DiverCity’s new 1:1 Gundam statue, the “Unicorn Gundam,” features approximately 50 illuminated sections, offering even more stunning lighting effects than the original Gundam. It shines both during the day and at night. During the daytime, a roughly one-minute transformation show is scheduled at 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, and 17:00. From 19:30 to 21:30 at night, different shows are performed every 30 minutes, lasting between approximately 2 to 5 minutes each.
