When the Hamasen Sunset Flight was launched in April, it was warmly welcomed by the public. Now, it’s set to set sail again on June 17 and 18. The Sunset Flight is specially timed to depart at 6 PM during the golden hour, allowing passengers to view the bustling Port of Kaohsiung from a unique perspective. You can even catch sight of cargo ships dotting the horizon like stars, waiting to enter the harbor – a truly rare experience.

The Kaohsiung Harbor Shipping Company stated that the Sunset Flight was well-received during its two initial sailings in April. However, due to passing through the tower-controlled airspace, they successfully applied for two more flights in June, which will take off on June 17 and 18. The company explained that regular harbor tours cannot get as close to the breakwater, but the Sunset Flight offers a different vantage point to view the busy Port of Kaohsiung and even see cargo ships waiting to enter the harbor – a truly rare opportunity.

Tickets for the Hamasen Sunset Flight are available at a special price of NT$150 per person (original price NT$300). The cruise departs at the golden hour of 6 PM, and this time the experience has been upgraded with a PLUS option. Pre-order options include gold-medal-winning chilled plum soup, as well as exclusive seafood-flavored snacks like dried squid and cod fish floss from the Xiaogang Fishermen’s Association.

The shipping company said that the chilled plum soup, seafood snacks, and stunning views are all uniquely local to Kaohsiung and are sources of pride for its residents.
