A summer paradise for kids to cool off – the Dajia Inclusive Playground’s water play area opens in June

The Dajia Inclusive Playground, which opened in April this year, has quickly become a go-to sand-play spot for families thanks to its large sandy area. The Taipei City Government’s Department of Public Works’ Bureau of Water Resources announced that, starting now, it will also open a children’s water play area. From June onwards, water sprinklers will operate every Saturday and Sunday from 3–6 PM. During the peak summer months of July and August, the number of daily sprinkler sessions will increase to three. Come to Dajia Riverside Park for sand play, water fun, and slides – all in one place.

The Bureau of Water Resources noted that Dajia Riverside Park’s spacious plaza and green areas are perfect for activities such as cycling, skateboarding, and rollerblading, making it a popular destination for parents to safely “walk the kids.” The water play area’s large circular sprays, bamboo dragonfly jets, and giant flower-shaped fountains are both adorable and fun. The sand pit includes diggers, sand tables, slides, climbing walls, and more, ensuring endless fun for little ones. Meanwhile, adults can relax at the light meal area under the membrane canopy, sipping coffee while enjoying quality family time.

In addition to the Dajia Riverside Park water play area, the Guandu Ferry Plaza also features a scenic dry fountain, which will begin operating in June. From June to September, it will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 5–8 PM. During July and August, it will be open daily from 5–8 PM. The scenic dry fountain has 26 nozzles and is equipped with LED lights in various colors. Although it is not meant for people to enter, watching the water dance along with the changing lights adds a cool and romantic atmosphere to the evening.

◎ Dajia Riverside Park Playground Sand Pit & Children’s Water Play Area:
Enter via Gate 8 (Binjiang Evacuation Gate) or Gate 9 (Dajia Evacuation Gate) of the Keelung River, then turn left and go straight until you reach the Hope Fountain.

2. MRT: Transfer to Red 34 at Yuanshan Station (Gate 8 Water Gate Stop, weekend service only)

◎ Guandu Waterfront Fountain:
Take the Tamsui Line of the MRT to Guandu Station. Rent a bicycle from the bike rental station next to the station and ride along the bike path to reach Guandu Waterfront Park. Alternatively, take Red 35 or Xiao 23 bus to Guandu Ferry Stop, walk 1 minute toward the bike rental station to arrive.
