Badouzi Station

Dubbed the “hidden gem of northern Taiwan,” Badouzi Station rivals Taiwan’s most beautiful station, Duoliang Station. It officially opened on December 28 of last year. With the extension of the route from Hsinke Science Museum Station to Badouzi Station, the Shenao branch line now stretches 4.7 km, reclaiming its title as the most beautiful coastal railway line. Reconstructed with an investment of NT$10.82 million by the Taiwan Railways Administration, Badouzi Station offers sunrise views in the morning and sea breezes in the evening, making it the most picturesque railway station in northern Taiwan.

Badouzi Station Information:
Trains run approximately once every hour at Badouzi Station, with four services in the morning and six in the afternoon. The last train departs at 6:12 PM.

Badouzi Seaside Park

Located along Keelung’s coast, Badouzi Park features well-developed walking trails, pavilions, ocean-view platforms, and the super-popular “Valley of Forgetfulness.” In addition to admiring the view of Keelung Islet and gazing at the vast sea while feeling the gentle sea breeze, you’ll find it incredibly refreshing. For those who want to get a bird’s-eye view, head to the 101 Highland at the top of the park. This rare sightseeing spot in Taiwan offers a 360-degree panoramic view, where you can see Jiufen, Fan’ao Bay, and Wanghai Lane, as well as the famous cape and bay landforms of the Northeast Coast.

Public Transport:
Take bus No. 103 or 107 from Keelung City Bus Terminal and get off at Badouzi Station. Walk along the signs to reach the destination.

By Car:
Take Zhongzheng Road to Provincial Highway No. 2 (Beining Road), continue until you reach Badouzi, then turn left onto Badou Street to arrive.

Eagle Rock

Follow the hiking trail around Lover’s Lake for about half an hour, and you’ll reach the Eagle Rock viewing platform. From this high vantage point, you can look down on the surrounding mountain ranges stretching in different directions, as well as see the Dawu Beach and the gradient Yin-Yang Sea in the distance. With the gentle sea breeze blowing, it’s a refreshing experience that helps melt away everyday stress.

The exposed giant rock formations here allow you to look left toward Golden Beach and Yehliu Cape, or right to see Keelung Islet — truly spectacular views. Moreover, the path to Eagle Rock is relatively flat, making it an easy mountain hike even for beginners.

Chaojing Park

Located on the eastern side of Badouzi Peninsula, Chaojing Park covers about one hectare and offers stunning views, including views of Haixiang Bay (also known as Huannfan Dawu). Originally a waste disposal site, the area was transformed by the Ocean Technology Museum into an excellent spot for sea viewing. The park is well-planned and features numerous installations, including “Broom Savior” and “Tip of the Iceberg” created by artists from France and Canada, which have become popular photo spots. Against the backdrop of blue skies, white clouds, and green lawns, it looks like a painting.

By car:
1. Exit at Mao Dong Interchange on National Highway 3, connect to Freeway 62 heading toward Ruifang, continue straight all the way, then head toward Keelung. Arrive at Chaojing Park and walk in.
2. Exit at Northeast Coast Interchange on National Highway 1, connect to Freeway 62 heading toward Ruifang, drive to the end, then connect to Provincial Highway 2 (Coastal Highway) heading toward Keelung. Arrive at Chaojing Park and walk in.
Bus:
Take bus 103 from Keelung Railway Station to Haoke Museum Station or bus 108 to Chaojing Park, then walk in.

Agana Shipyard

The historic Agana Shipyard was originally a wharf for transporting sand and ore during the Japanese colonial period. After Japan’s colonial rule ended, the idle factory was rented to the American company Agana Shipbuilding, which primarily built yachts—hence the shipyard’s name. Later, the company withdrew from Taiwan due to poor management, and the shipyard was no longer in use. But to this day, it remains a childhood memory and landmark for the people of Keelung.

Located next to Peace Bridge on Keelung’s Heping Island, the Agana Shipyard was partially demolished by excavators early last year, causing damage to the structure. With the concrete protection gone, the exposed steel bars have accelerated rusting. Although its former glory can no longer be seen, it still attracts many visitors.

Please note that as the Agana Shipyard has not been in use for many years, its structure has become unstable due to damage. Please walk carefully to avoid danger.

Heping Island Coastal Park

Located on the eastern side of Keelung Harbor, Heping Island Coastal Park boasts rich natural landscapes and unique geological wonders, such as the famous Tofu Rock, Ten Thousand Piles, and Thousand-Layer Mat. The scenery at sunset or sunrise is absolutely stunning, with Tofu Rock even selected by foreign media as one of the “19 Most Beautiful Places in the World to Watch the Sunrise,” making its beauty known internationally.

By car: Exit at Keelung Interchange on National Highway 1 – Zhongzheng Elevated Road – Zhongzheng Road – Zhengbin Road – He 1st Road – Ping 1st Road.
Public transport: Take the high-speed rail to Taipei Station – transfer to TRA to Keelung Station – transfer to Keelung City Bus (Route 101) to Heping Island Park Station.

Lover’s Lake

Located in the Dawu Mountains of Keelung, Lover’s Lake is a natural highland lake formed by the convergence of six small streams. A lakeside walking trail has been laid out here, and three platforms offer scenic views. There’s also a romantic legend: if couples visit Lover’s Lake and walk hand-in-hand across the Lover’s Bridge, they will enjoy eternal love and a strong relationship.
