Quebec Winter Carnival: The Biggest Snowball Fight Is About to Begin

The annual and world-renowned "Quebec Winter Carnival" celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. To mark the grand occasion, in addition to scaling up existing traditional activities such as the snow park, skiing, snow tubing, ice sculptures, sledding, outdoor shows… and more, a spectacular fireworks display will be held on the opening day, January 31. The colorful fireworks will light up the snowy landscape, creating a dazzling spectacle both in the sky and on the ground.

This year’s Winter Carnival will span across eight city blocks and will feature attempts to set world records for the biggest snowball fight and the largest sleigh parade, aiming to rally 6,000 participants to break the record together. The festival's Ice Palace has been specially expanded this year, constructed using 300 tons of ice bricks—40% larger than in previous years. The series of events will last nearly two weeks, kicking off on January 31 and ending on February 16.
