Santa Claus Turns into the God of Wealth to Welcome the New Year – Flying Tiger Bear Returns to New Taipei Christmas Town

The New Taipei City Christmas Town, which brought infinite joy in 2013 with its main lights featuring Santa Claus and the flying teddy bear, has transformed just before Lunar New Year’s Eve. Santa has become the God of Wealth, and the adorable flying teddy bear has turned into a flying panda cub. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day, at every full hour, they continue to present a “super cute and bear-bringing” Spring Festival light show, keeping you company from Lunar New Year all the way to the Lantern Festival.

The New Taipei City Christmas Town has now changed its theme to the “New Taipei ‘Spring Festival’ Town”! The Spring Festival light show, headlined by the God of Wealth and the adorable panda cub, features spectacular animated light displays using LED lights that can change into 65,536 colors. The flying panda cub will ride a kite across the sky, waving its paw to write auspicious phrases and spread good fortune. The God of Wealth will also ascend the 35.5-meter-tall Fortune Tree once again, showering down golden coins and blessings from the sky as he greets everyone with a “Happy New Year and Prosperity!”

From January 28 to February 14 (excluding the New Year’s Eve to the first two days of the Lunar New Year period), the 3-minute and 55-second Spring Festival light show will take place every night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at each full hour. The New Taipei City Government invites everyone to welcome the new spring and celebrate the new year. May the new year bring success at every step and all wishes come true.
