"Green Expo" Teams Up with "Agricultural Expo": Visitors Enjoy 20% Discount on Park Entry

The upcoming "2014 Yilan Green Expo," scheduled to be held on March 29, has something new this year. Yilan County Magistrate Lin Tsong-shyan and Yunlin County Magistrate Su Chih-fen jointly signed the "Green Taiwan, Sustainable Agriculture" declaration yesterday (26th), announcing an alliance between the "Green Expo" and the "Agricultural Expo." The goal is to work together toward environmental and ecological balance and sustainable development. Both expos will also collaborate on ticketing—visitors holding an Agricultural Expo ticket stub can enjoy a 20% discount on full-price tickets at the Green Expo.

Lin Tsong-shyan visited the Yunlin Agricultural Expo yesterday and said he saw specific methods and experiences proposed by the Agricultural Expo in terms of environmental protection, ecological sustainability, food safety, and agricultural education, which realized the expo’s declaration of “Reserving the Future with Care.” Su Chih-fen pointed out that agriculture is the foundation of a nation. In the face of increasingly serious issues such as environmental disasters and the loss of agricultural culture, the "2013 Yunlin Agricultural Expo" embodies new propositions for post-modern agriculture. Starting from people, land, and crops, it is willing to lead Taiwan toward a new model for future agriculture from the perspective and vision of being an “Agricultural Capital.”

Lin Tsong-shyan said that over the past year, Taiwan society has witnessed many food safety issues as well as many actions that harm the land and environment. These serve as reminders that returning to green, natural living is a positive approach and development mindset. This year’s theme for the Yilan Green Expo is "Seeing the New Value of the Land," which aligns with the Agricultural Expo’s focus on people, land, and crops—not only sharing the same direction but also complementing and reinforcing each other.

Both magistrates also hope that the Green Expo and Agricultural Expo will continue their alliance and cooperation in the future. They aim for the spirit of both expos to spread widely, helping Taiwan move toward environmental and ecological balance and sustainable development.
