To maintain recreational quality and protect the natural ecological environment, the Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Areawill implement “dynamic” crowd control limiting total visitors to a maximum of 3,000 peopleduring the Chinese New Year holiday from the first to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year (January 31 to February 5, 2014). The entrance to the Cui Feng Lake scenic road will also undergo dynamic vehicle control, allowing up to 300 small vehicles.

The Forestry Bureau announced on the 28th that when the number of visitors entering the park reaches 2,800, crowd control will be initiated starting at the ticket sales (and inspection) stations. Information will be announced via the Highway Bureau’s variable message signs (electronic billboards), and the police and radio stations will broadcast messages about the park nearing full capacity. When the dynamic capacity limit of 3,000 visitors is reached, information signs indicating the park is full will be set up at Jiayuan Bridge and Niudou Bridge. The ticket sales (and inspection) stations will also provide a map of nearby recreational spots around the recreation area, advising visitors to consider going to alternative nearby locations. Visitors are encouraged to stay tuned to police and radio broadcasts and may re-enter the park after some have left.

To alleviate congestion of people and vehicles near the Taipingshan Lodge service station, a temporary parking lot has been opened at the 24.4 km point of Provincial Highway Yi-Zhuan No. 1, with free shuttle buses available to transport visitors to the square in front of the Taipingshan Lodge service station (route: 24.4 km temporary parking lot ←→ fork ←→ square in front of Taipingshan Lodge station).

In addition, Cui Feng Lake is an ecological conservation area and also a mountainous restricted zone. To prevent excessive vehicle entry that could disturb wildlife habitats and reduce environmental pollution caused by vehicles, dynamic vehicle control allowing up to 300 small vehicles will be implemented at the entrance to the Cui Feng scenic road.
