Where to go during the Spring Festival? New Taipei’s sightseeing factories stay open for the holidays

Have you planned your 6-day Lunar New Year holiday itinerary? Over half of New Taipei City’s sightseeing factories will only close on New Year’s Eve or operate on a part-time schedule during the holiday period. The New Taipei City Government stated that due to this year’s shorter break, people might consider visiting nearby sightseeing factories for a half-day or one-day trip. These spots are especially great for family outings, with various DIY experience zones where kids can have a blast.

New Taipei’s 20 sightseeing factories and industrial culture museums includeVigor Kobo Pineapple Cake Dream Factory, A Little Sweet Happiness Castle, Hsu Hsin-Wang Ceramics Memorial Museum, Wang Ding Time Science & Art Museum, Taiwan Agriculture & Forestry Daliao Tea Culture Museum, and Tea Mountain House Soap Culture Experience Museum. Apart from being closed on New Year’s Eve, they are open during the rest of the holiday.

Ivete Ice Cream Dream Factory, Wu Fu Yang Socks Story Museum, Guangcong Metal Art Museum, and Liu Chuan Tian Xia Art Museum will reopen gradually from the second to the fourth day of the Lunar New Year,offering the public great places to visit during the Spring Festival. The sightseeing factories also offer special discounts and festive commemorative gifts to ensure everyone has a fun and rewarding time.

At Shou Xin Fang Creative Mochi Culture Museum, you can see children molding mochi with their hands, as well as instructors providing detailed demonstrations—both tailored to meet the needs of families traveling locally and from abroad during the holiday. The museum stated that it is launching a “New Year Gifting Festival,” along with product giveaways, where customers spending over NT$588 can enter a lucky draw for a gift bag, with the grand prize being a pair of tickets to Japan’s Huis Ten Bosch theme park.

Dagao Song Xiao Liang Kou’s Nougat Creative Museum not only displays traditional engagement and wedding gifts but also introduces customs related to wedding ceremonies. Master artisans are also on-site to demonstrate handmade nougat. Since this year’s Lunar New Year falls in the Year of the Horse, those born in the Year of the Horse can enjoy a 10% discount throughout the museum, plus an activity where spending over NT$1,000 gets you a free plush cow doll and cookie gift set.
