The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration, National Chi-Nan University, and the Dapuli Area Tourism Development Association once again jointly held a cherry blossom event combining “cherry blossoms” and “Chinese tea ceremony” from January 28 to February 16, 2014 (lunar calendar around Chinese New Year), at the Chi-Nan University cherry blossom grove. Domestic and international visitors are invited to “enjoy fine tea and admire cherry blossoms” under the thousand cherry trees, and to savor a warm and romantic afternoon.

Among the events, the “Flower Appreciation and Tea Ceremony” on February 8th features high mountain oolong tea from Ren’ai Township and black tea from Yuchi Township as the highlights. Grand tea parties are held in both the morning and afternoon, with 200 participants accepted for each session. The fee is 300 NTD per person, which includes one set of cherry blossom commemorative tea cups, as well as the experience of a professional tea master-led tea session and live music performances. On February 15th, there will be one “Reserved Tea Party Under a Cherry Tree” in both the morning and afternoon, with 100 groups accepted for each session (200 NTD per group). Each group will be assigned a numbered cherry tree space where they can bring their own mats and tea sets to enjoy tea and cherry blossoms with friends. Hot water and music performances will be provided on site. Visitors are also welcome to reserve a blooming cherry tree during the cherry blossom season, bring their own tea ware and mats, and leisurely enjoy the beauty of flowers and tea under the blossoming branches.

During the event period, domestic and international visitors are welcome to personally experience this hidden cherry blossom gem. On regular days, entering the Chi-Nan University campus only requires a 50 NTD parking fee. Residents of Puli, Yuchi, Guoxing, and Ren’ai townships can enter for free upon presenting ID. Parking is also free on the two tea party days, February 8th and 15th.
