The steam locomotive CK124, also known as the Midsummer Formosa, is setting off again！Taiwan Railways’ cruise-style train package tours have gained quite a reputation, with many popular itineraries selling out shortly after going on sale. Especially when the national-level steam locomotive CK124 is in operation, it attracts many rail enthusiasts eager to hop on board. This time, Taiwan has planned a cruise-style train tour in March to pay tribute to the wooden railway stations along the central coastal line,with ticket booking opening at 9:00 AM on February 21..

This wooden station tribute tour will visit wooden railway stations such as “ZhuiFen,” “RiNan,” “XinPu,” “DaShan,” and “TanWen,” which are among the few remaining wooden stations built during the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan. Among them, ZhuiFen Station features a unique wooden structure. “ZhuiFen” means “branch point” in Japanese, and the station got its name because it is where the Taichung Line diverges from the West Coast Line.

In terms of ticket pricing, each ticket costs 899 NTD,which includes access to the CK124 cruise-style train, round-trip fares from Changhua to Zhunan (coastal line outbound, mountain line return), a commemorative cap, and an identification badge. There will only be two departures on March 8 and 9, and group bookings are not accepted. Ticket booking will start at 9:00 AM on February 21.
