Kaohsiung’s “Free Bus Rides with an Easycard” Promotion Extended Until End of June

Easycard promotion extended again: The Kaohsiung City Government announced on the 25th that the free bus ride promotion using an Easycard will continue until the end of June this year. In addition, holders of a one-day pass for sightseeing and cultural buses can also ride city buses for free.

Kaohsiung City launched the free bus ride promotion with an Easycard at the end of last year. According to statistics from the Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau, this initiative has increased public bus ridership by 20%. To further encourage more people to use public transportation, the original promotion, which was scheduled to end in February, has now been extended until the end of June.

As one of the key tourism hubs in southern Taiwan, Kaohsiung offers a variety of sightseeing and cultural buses, such as the Daguangshan Holiday Bus and sightseeing buses for Hongmaogang, Fengshan, and Hamasen. To boost the ridership of these services, the Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau has also allowed passengers with a one-day pass for sightseeing and cultural buses to not only ride those buses but also transfer for free to regular city buses.
