Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
EVA Air Chairman Chang Kuo-wei stated on March 4 that starting from the second quarter of this year, flights to the U.S. will be gradually increased to meet the high demand for seats during the summer travel season. This year, the airline plans to introduce six A321 aircraft and three 777s, which will all be deployed on U.S. routes. The previously tight seat availability during the summer is expected to be alleviated, which will also positively impact the airline’s performance in the third quarter and the second half of the year.
Chang Kuo-wei also noted that compared to the European market, which has more flight restrictions, Taiwan has closer geographical and economic ties with the U.S., along with advantages such as visa-free entry and open skies policies. With the addition of new aircraft, the airline plans to add new destinations like Chicago and Houston next year.
According to EVA Air, starting June 2, the Vancouver route will increase from three to four weekly flights; starting June 4, the Toronto route will go from three to four weekly flights, the New York route from five to seven weekly flights, and the Los Angeles route from 17 to 20 weekly flights. Starting July 3, the San Francisco route will increase from 12 to 14 weekly flights, and the Los Angeles route will further rise from 20 to 21 weekly flights. The total number of weekly flights will increase from 45 to 55, representing a 22% boost in capacity.
