The Central Weather Bureau issued a 【Heavy Rain Special Alert】 in the evening, stating that from the night of the 8th to the 9th,there is a chance of localized heavy rain in the Keelung northern coast area, northern Miaoli, and mountainous areas north of Nantou. The public is advised to exercise caution when traveling..

According to the bureau, a frontal system formed over the northeastern sea area of Taiwan on the 8th. Starting in the afternoon, rainfall noticeably increased in areas north of Miaoli, and temperatures began to drop. The feeling of damp cold was more pronounced in areas north of central Taiwan, where daytime highs only reached 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. In contrast, southern Taiwan, Hualien, and Taitung saw daytime highs of about 23 to 26 degrees.

From the evening of the 8th tothe early morning of the 9th, due to the passage of a frontal system and the subsequent southward movement of a cold air mass from the mainland, temperatures will drop again. From the evening of the 8th to the early morning of the 9th,the low temperature in the north will be around 12 to 13 degrees, while other regions will see lows of around 14 to 17 degrees..

Northern Taiwan will remain wet and cold on the 9th, with daytime temperatures only reaching 15 to 16 degrees. Meanwhile, southern Taiwan may see daytime highs of up to 23 to 24 degrees, making it relatively more comfortable and warm. Therefore, travelers heading north or south are reminded to pay attention to temperature changes and dress accordingly.

Another frontal system is expected next week, accompanied by a cold air mass moving south, keeping northern Taiwan wet and cold for the coming week. The weather bureau forecasts that northern Taiwan will experience wet and cold conditions throughout the next week. On the 10th and 11th, affected by the eastward movement of the rain zone over southern China, rainfall is expected in the north and eastern parts of Taiwan. On the 12th, rainfall will turn into localized and brief showers. Starting on the 13th, another frontal system will arrive, along with a cold air mass moving south, which will have the greatest impact on Taiwan from the 13th to the early morning of the 15th. Northern Taiwan may see temperatures drop as low as 12 degrees again.
