It’s common knowledge that chocolate and red wine can act as aphrodisiacs, but they come with high calories and price tags. But have you ever thought that everyday ingredients like bananas and almonds could also be considered aphrodisiacs? According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, there are nine common foods that can serve as affordable yet effective aphrodisiacs due to their ability to boost sperm production or stimulate female hormones.

1. Carrots
According to recent research from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in the United States, eating yellow or orange fruits and vegetables can help increase sperm motility and production. In experiments, carrots were shown to boost sperm motility by 1.5%.

2. Almonds
Rich in vitamin E, magnesium, and protein, almonds have long been considered a great snack. But recently, experts have pointed out that the aroma of almonds not only lifts women’s moods but may also ignite passion-inducing hormones.

3. Fenugreek
Experiments by the Australian Centre for Complementary Medicine, Education and Research have proven that fenugreek contains certain aphrodisiac molecules that can enhance male libido. Moreover, fenugreek is also a commonly used ingredient in Indian cuisine.

4. Bananas
Bananas are rich in bromelain, which can promote hormones in the testicles. They also contain vitamin B6, making them an excellent fruit choice.

5. Watermelon
Watermelon is said to be the “Viagra of fruits” because it contains citrulline, which helps dilate blood vessels in men.

6. Egg Yolks
Egg yolks can help suppress depression. According to psychiatrists, eggs contain L-arginine, which may also aid in treating erectile dysfunction.

7. Sushi (Raw Fish)
The omega-3 fatty acids found in salmon and mackerel are believed to help produce sex hormones, while the selenium in salmon can also increase sperm count.

8. Asparagus
Research shows that vegetables may actually help improve male performance. For men, asparagus may help reduce inflammation and increase blood flow.

Honey is a natural sweetener that is also rich in vitamin B. It can boost testosterone production, and the fructose in honey also helps replenish energy.
