Unlimited bus rides included!“The Love Rice Fields Line” lets you explore Beinan Boulevard, Guanshan, and more

Traveling to Taitung isn’t just about renting a car—public transportation is actually very convenient too. The only bus operator in the Taitung area has recently launched a themed bus activity called“Explore Taitung. Love the Rice Fields”. From March 20 to June 20, simply purchase a NT$280 pass to enjoy unlimited bus rides. The bus routes cover selected attractions in Taitung, such as Beinong Boulevard in Chishang Township, Guanshan, Wuling, Chulu, and Beinan, all the way to downtown Taitung. Travelers can explore it all by bus, and there are also many participating discount partner shops, making it both convenient and budget-friendly.

Ms. Shi Yiru, the second-generation representative of Dingdong Bus, said that last year, the “Love the Rice Fields” route won sixth place in the “Top Ten Scenic Routes” competition hosted by the Directorate General of Highways under Taiwan’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications. Since the bus route allows travelers to easily visit famous scenic spots in Taitung, she and her brothers—who were born and raised in Taitung—hope to promote local tourist attractions and let visitors know that taking the bus around Taitung is actually very convenient.

“Explore Taitung. Love the Rice Fields” was launched fromMarch 20 to June 20 with a NT$280 one-day pass,which allows unlimited rides on the 8172 Taitung train service (between Shanxi Main Terminal and Taitung Station), all routes heading toward Chishang (between Shanxi Main Terminal and Chishang), and the Taiwan Good Rail Valley Wild Route. Additionally, with the pass, you can enjoy half-price hot springs and other merchant discounts such as reduced entry fees at Iron Flower Village and NT$300 off homestay prices within two days.
