Many foreign travelers who have visited Taiwan have said, “The most beautiful sight in Taiwan is its people.” So what is the most beautiful view of Taiwan in the eyes of us Taiwanese? The “Japan-Taiwan Photo Contest,”“Japan-Taiwan Photo Contest”organized by the Taiwan Visitors Association, the Japan Tourism Promotion Agency, and the Japan Association of Travel Agents, invites everyone to recommend the most beautiful sights in Taiwan and Japan through their photos.

With the number of people traveling between Taiwan and Japan continuously reaching new highs—having surpassed 3.6 million to date—apart from the popular tourist spots, there are still many hidden charms in both Taiwan and Japan waiting to be discovered.The “Japan-Taiwan Photo Contest”aims to encourage everyone to submit their photos, helping others discover, “Ah, I didn’t know such a beautiful place existed here!”

The contest is divided into four main themes: “Taiwan Recommended by Taiwanese,” “Japan Recommended by Taiwanese,” “Taiwan Recommended by Japanese,” and “Japan Recommended by Japanese.” By uploading photos from various locations, the organizers will select one outstanding work

Among the outstanding works selected in March, "Taiwan Recommended by Taiwanese" is the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Pier in Kaohsiung, where the towering 85 Sky Tower can be seen from the pier—a great place for family strolls. Meanwhile, "Taiwan Recommended by Japanese" is the guard mounting ceremony at the National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine. The contributor noted that not only is the ceremony symmetrical and beautiful, but female visitors can also take the opportunity to see if there’s anyone in the guard lineup they like, making it an alternative source of enjoyment.

The reason why famous scenic spots are beautiful is that they indeed offer sights rarely seen elsewhere.
