What does Christmas look like in your imagination? Though Taiwan doesn’t have the snowy landscapes of Europe and America, there are alleys where homes are decorated with Christmas spirit. Not as extravagant as Xinyi District, they still glow modestly. ETtoday Travel Cloud has selected three Christmas scenes you might not know about — go take a walk, snap some photos, and experience a different kind of heartwarming holiday.

1. Beitou Christmas Lane
Every year as Christmas approaches, residents of Jiqing Li in Beitou District spontaneously decorate their front yards with colorful lights, a tradition that is now in its 18th year. The decorations on Lane 15, Alley 71 of Section 1, Shiba Road, are particularly spectacular, earning the nickname “Christmas Lane.” Currently, about 70% of the households have completed their “makeovers.” The Jiqing Li Office said a music evening will be held on December 23, featuring performances and food.

2. Fuxing Christmas Park
About a 10-minute walk from Christmas Lane is Fuxing Christmas Park. Cai Liuchi, the head of Fuxing Li, revealed that this year’s main light display stands 15 meters tall, paired with a 1.5-meter star — truly spectacular. Colorful lights and spherical ornaments decorate the pillars, making the entire park incredibly beautiful, completely different from previous years. It is expected to officially light up at 7:00 PM on December 23, with lion dance performances to kick things off, and candies and small gifts will be handed out. Walking over from Christmas Lane, it forms one of the most enchanting sights.

Friendly reminder: Both “Christmas Lane” and “Fuxing Christmas Park” are residential areas, not tourist attractions. Visitors are reminded to keep noise levels down, avoid disturbing residents, and to take their trash with them.

3. Gongguan Christmas Season
The Gongguan Christmas Season started on November 25 and runs until December 31. With an eco-friendly and energy-saving concept, it doesn’t focus on flashy light displays but rather emphasizes greenery with bright lighting to illuminate the fountain garden and the entire park.

Lin Jiayi of the Taipei Water Park said that the December 24 concert will offer free admission. The event will feature a performance by the National Taiwan Normal University Concert Band, and the park will be lit with colorful beams to create a warm Christmas Eve atmosphere.

Additionally, this year there is a free photo-taking and printing service, and the concert will incorporate a charity element — donate an invoice to receive a limited-edition (200 pieces only) “love cookie,” with all invoices donated to charitable organizations.
