Traveling from Central Taiwan to Japan just got easier! More flights between Taichung and Osaka — now 7 weekly round trips

More flights to Osaka! Following the launch of 5 weekly non-stop flights from Taichung to Osaka in November of last year (2013), Mandarin Airlines, a subsidiary of the China Airlines Group, is further expanding services for travelers in central Taiwan. Starting March 30 this year (2014),3the number of weekly flights between Taichung and Osaka will be increased to 7, offering more seats, more flexible schedules, larger aircraft, and business class service — a major benefit for business travelers going between Taichung and Osaka.

Starting March 30, Mandarin Airlines will operate daily flights between Taichung and Osaka, upgrading the aircraft from E190 to B737-800. The seating capacity will increase to 158, including 8 business class and 150 economy class seats — more than double the previous total, making travel to Kansai even more convenient. The outbound flight (Taichung-Osaka, CI0136) departs at 12:40 and arrives at 16:10; the return flight (Osaka-Taichung, CI0137) departs at 17:30 and arrives at 19:50. Booking is now open.

Located in western Honshu, Osaka is Japan’s second-largest metropolitan area and, together with Tokyo in the Kanto region, is a must-visit destination for travelers from Taiwan. The city offers everything from shopping to gourmet food. The iconic Osaka Castle is currently in full bloom with cherry blossoms, creating a stunning contrast between the ancient fortress and springtime pink. Also extremely popular among tourists, Universal Studios Japan is located in Osaka — it’s the closest movie-themed amusement park to Taiwan. The park vividly recreates lively movie scenes, and visitors can even take photos with adorable cartoon characters, making it one of Osaka’s top attractions.

Taiwan Taichung International Airport’s new international terminal has been officially in operation since April last year. In addition to its spacious layout, convenient pathways, and airport-standard Wi-Fi zones and duty-free shops, the exclusive VIP lounge for Mandarin Airlines has also been launched, significantly enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers departing from or arriving at Taichung via China Airlines Group flights.
