The nearly century-old Daxi Old Tea Factory has now become one of the stops on the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Xiaowulai Line" route. To celebrate this new stop, from now until the end of June, visitors who present their same-day ride coupon can receive a special tea gift from the factory. Additionally, free guided tours led by experts will be offered three times a day on weekends.

Hidden near Cihu, the Daxi Old Tea Factory was built in 1926 and is a green building that blends Taiwanese, Japanese, and British architectural styles. During the peak years of Taiwan’s tea industry, it produced up to 600 metric tons of Nantou Black Tea annually. However, in 1956, a major fire almost completely destroyed the factory. It was later rebuilt under the directive of former President Chiang Kai-shek, preserving this valuable piece of historical heritage.

After nearly half a century of silence, the old tea factory underwent a comprehensive renovation starting in 2010. The restored factory retains the nostalgic feel of the old building, with rows of blue-gray windows and walls exuding a retro vibe. Visitors can also sense the lingering traces of history here, reliving the prosperity of the tea industry in those earlier years. Many tourists are eager to visit and experience the nostalgic atmosphere of the "good old days," making it a popular spot that sees a steady stream of visitors.

To celebrate the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle" stop at Daxi Old Tea Factory, visitors who present a same-day Xiaowulai Line ride coupon before the end of June can receive a complimentary tea gift from the factory. The tea gift changes every month: "Organic Honey Aroma Black Tea" in April, "Qingxin Ganlu Green Tea" in May, and "Cold Brew Tea" in June. The factory also offers free tastings of "Honey Aroma Black Tea" and "Old Iron Kettle Charcoal-Brewed Pu'er Tea." Expert-guided tours are available three times a day every weekend.

Starting now, the "Xiaowulai Line" will also have a professional guide on board during popular morning time slots on weekends, providing commentary services along the Cihu to Xiaowulai route and within the Xiaowulai scenic area.
