April Snow Falls — Take a Flower-Viewing Shuttle to Tucheng Mountain Area for the “Tung Blossom Festival”

“April snow” is starting to fall across Taiwan, and New Taipei City’s Tucheng District has also entered tung blossom season. The Tucheng District Office reports that tung blossoms in the mountainous areas of Tucheng have currently bloomed to about 30–40% and are expected to be in full bloom by the end of April. To welcome the influx of flower-viewing visitors, a paid shuttle bus service will be available from now until May 11 at Exit 3 of Yongnan Metro Station, taking people up the mountain to enjoy the beautiful sight of “snow-like blossoms.”

The Tucheng District Office says that every late April, the mountainous areas of Tucheng are blanketed in white as people wander through the forests to admire the sea of white flowers or use fallen tung blossoms to create various patterns or craft them into wreaths and rings — a fun activity. Currently, the blossom conditions at spots like Tucheng’s Tung Blossom Park and Nantianmu Road have reached about 30–40%.

The flower-viewing shuttle bus will operate every weekend from now until May 11, providing service from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Exit 3 of Yongning Metro Station, with a one-way fare of NT$15. Additionally, traffic control will be in place on Chengtian Road, Zhongyi Road, Zhongcheng Road, Nantianmu Road, and Longquan Road from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM on April 26 and 27, during which cars will be prohibited from entering. Flexible traffic control measures will be implemented based on crowd levels on May 1, 3, 4, 10, and 11.
